Inwood Park, located on Vine Street north of the school, has a small woods
edge, meadow and pond, 20 acres. No access to bathrooms or water fountains.

Bramble Park is located on Bramble, east of Homer, one block from school.
Nice 10 acre park with creek, floodplain and woods. No bathrooms or water
fountains, mostly flat terrain, muddy. |

Rawson Woods, located at corner of Middleton and McAlpin Ave, is a bird
preserve, closed to the public. At 10 acres, it has a nice woods and creek.
Steep terrain, no trails, prepare to go through heavy brush, very muddy
when rains. |

Winton Commons, located at the corner of Hand and North Edgewood Avenues,
has a nice woods with a variety of trees and birds (12 acres). From school,
walk up Hand to the park. No bathrooms or water fountains. Prepare to
go off trail (long pants, sturdy shoes). |

American’s Choice curriculum model
Eden Park, located a few blocks from the school, is a large 186 acre park
with overlooks, woods and open areas. From the school, go south on St.
James Ave, left on Nassau, right on Luray. Meet at Twin Lakes (Luray Avenue)
in Eden Park. Be prepared to go off trail (long pants, sturdy shoes).
May bring lunch and have picnic at Twin Lakes if they wish (come early
or plan to stay late so they don’t cut into program time). |

Roots and Wings (New American Schools) curriculum model
Dempsey Park, located behind school, is a 7 acre recreational area with
some large trees and a grassy lawn. Glenway Park, located a few blocks
from the school at Glenway Avenue between Considine and Purcell, is only
3 acres, but somewhat more natural. No bathrooms or water fountains at
either park. |
